Judge Peden served as a judge for 25 years. Appointed in 1989, Judge Peden served as the judge of the 285th District Court until his retirement in 2010. Prior to his appointment, Judge Peden served as the judge of Bexar County Court at Law No. 8 (1985-1989) and Justice of the Peace, Pct. 3, Place 2 (1983-1985). While on the bench, Judge Peden presided over 580 jury trials.

Prior to becoming a judge, he was both in private practice and served as an assistant Bexar County District Attorney.

Judge Peden now serves as a mediator and visiting judge.

Judge Michael Peden is honored to have been selected by his peers in Scene in S.A. Magazine as one of the "Best Lawyers in San Antonio" for 2015.
