Bill represents a diverse client base in resolving complex legal disputes through litigation and mediation. Over the past 35 years, his practice has covered a broad range of cases focused on unique issues. Commercial litigation, family law property divisions and custody issues, theft of trade secrets, insurance issues, construction disputes, contract claims, fiduciary litigation, professional negligence claims (legal, engineering, and architectural), constitutional land use, wrongful death claims, and employment claims are among those that Bill has handled. In particular, Bill recently negotiated to completion one of the largest property divisions in the United States in a marriage dissolution. He has successfully represented national corporations in federal and state litigation within, and outside, of Texas. Bill had served as lead counsel in more than 50 jury trials and a far greater number of significant non-jury proceedings.

Bill is incredibly proud to have been nominated and inducted as a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers in 2018. The American College of Trial Lawyers is the most distinguished, honorary trial lawyer organization whose membership is limited to no more than one percent of the lawyers in any state. Proposed fellows are nominated by Fellows of ACTL and then undergo a rigorous, year-long vetting process before an invitation is extended to them. Bill is also a Member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, a group of trial lawyers who are invited into membership upon meeting rigorous trial experience criteria. Additionally, Bill is a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America which is a peer-selected, invitation only, aggressively diverse honorary society of less than one-half of one percent of American lawyers who are vetted for their skill, expertise, and service. Bill is often asked to speak to judges and lawyers on issues affecting the practice of law.

Beyond his national recognition for trial advocacy, Bill is consistently recognized by his state and local peers for his legal expertise. Bill was recognized in Texas Monthly Magazine as one of the "Top 50 Attorneys in the Central and West Texas Region" in 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2017. He was also named as one of "San Antonio's Best Lawyers" by both Texas Monthly Magazine and Scene in SA Magazine for ten years in a row. Bill is a former President of the Texas Young Lawyers Association, and has devoted a substantial portion of his professional life to the Texas Bar Association at many levels.
